CLUB MOVES INTO ANNAPOLIS IN SPRING 2012

CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO WILLINGER FAMILY

The local soccer community lost a wonderful man, a great humanitarian, and a valued advocate of the game in Craig Willinger this week. Condolences go out to all who knew and loved Craig. QUARANTA ASKED TO PLAY ONE MORE TIME

Pipeline Vice President Santino Quaranta has accepted an offer to play in the upcoming Indian Premier League Tournament kicking off at the end of February. International soccer icons such as Fabio Cannavaro, Robert Pires, Robbie Fowler, and Hernan Crespo will be featured alongside Quaranta in this tournament. Read more here.

FORMER MLS PLAYER DEVIN BARCLAY JOINS PIPELINE

Former professional soccer player set to join Staff and Board of the club. Barclay played 5 years in Major League Soccer before having a standout career kicking for The Ohio State University. (Read more)

PIPELINE'S PHIL GREATWICH TO HEAD BALTIMORE ACADEMY PROGRAM

Greatwich will take on role of Director of Coaching, Baltimore Academy going forward. The program is in its fourth session and the next will be held in Spring. Learn more here.

PIPELINE SENDS TOP PROSPECT TO EUROPE, PLAYER SIGNS WITH PORTUGUESE CLUB

Congratulations go to local standout Marco Mangione who has signed with a professional contract with Portuguese second division club. Pipeline arranged for Mangione to have a two week trial and he earned a contact during that time. One of Pipeline's core goals is to assist players in reaching the highest level possible with their playing career, be it high school, college, or professional. Learn more here.

Kevin was a four year starter at Div. 1 UMBC and holds scoring records at Loyola Blakefield.

PIPELINE U16G PLAYS KEY ROLE IN HIGH SCHOOL TITLE AS A SOPHOMORE

Sofia Perzan (Pipeline U16) Nets Two Goals and an assist in County Championship. As a Sophomore, Sofia played a key role in the win for the Perry Hall Varsity Girls soccer team. The team defended its county championship this year.

U14 BLACK CAPTAIN MAKES REGION 1 ODP TEAM

Pipeline would like to congratulate Tommy Spear of the U14 Pipeline "Black" for his selection to the 1998 Region 1 ODP team. This team selects the best players from eleven states and is the system which develops players for youth national team play.

LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT RECAP

Congratulations go out to the Pipeline teams participating in the OBGC and Parkville events this past weekend. U8 Black (boys) are Champions of Parkville United Labor Day Tournament. U11 Black (photo below) are Finalists in OBGC; losing in the 12th round penalty kicks against Bethesda. U12 Black go undefeated at OBGC. Congratulations to all teams that competed this weekend. PIPELINE SERVING THE YOUNGEST IN THE COMMUNITY AS PART OF GLRRC

As a program of Greater Loch Raven Rec Council (GLRRC), Pipeline will help with their youth program for the fall and provide a platform for boys to play travel soccer. Pipeline will run and staff their Tykers program (ages 4-5, boys) with licensed coaches. This will help those boys start off with proper skill development and a love of the game. PIPELINE OFFERS INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

The club is offering individual training by professional coaches. Players from outside and inside the club may seek training opportunities. Contact Sean Rush. Note that Pipeline players will be offered training by coaches other than their own only in the interest of fairness and as exposure to other coaches benefits the player.

PIPELINE COACH HORTA CALLED UP TO NATIONAL TEAM

Pipeline congratulates Coach Scott Horta (U8 Girls & U10 Girls Red) for his call up to the Puerto Rican national team. He will be playing for the squad during the coming rounds of World Cup Qualifying.

PARTNERSHIP WITH SHUTTERFLY ANNOUNCED

The club has announced that all teams will be using Shutterfly.com team pages for internal team use. This will enable communication between the club, team managers, coaches, and parents to be consistent, secure, and up to date.

PIPELINE IS HOLDING A CAMP AT MCDONOGH

Pipeline is hosting a camp at McDonogh School for boys and girls. The camp will be coached by professional players and coaches. The camp runs June 27-July 1 (9am-4pm). Transportation is provided by bus from many areas around the region and lunch is provided! Contact us to register. » GIRLS PROGRAM -- DIRECTOR OF COACHING ANNOUNCED Pipeline is excited to announce that Alyssa Radu, head women's coach at UMBC, has come on board to head and develop the girls side of the club. Alyssa comes to Pipeline with a history of consistent success developing players, teams, and programs on the women's side. Radu has coached club soccer and studied under the youth coaches of top professional European clubs, including Manchester United, PSV Eindhoven and FC Barcelona. She holds coaching licenses from both the NSCAA and USSF. Read her full coaching bio here.

SPRING TEAMS WRAP UP SEASON

The first Pipeline boys teams wrapped up their spring season over the weekend. All teams showed vast improvement in their level of individual skill and team play. Everyone is looking forward to tryouts and next year.

PIPELINE CAMP ADDS PORTUGUESE COACH TO STAFF

Coaches for the Pipeline camp at McDonogh now include Jose Lemos. Lemos played 9 years in the top division of Portuguese soccer. He played for Ribeirao for two years before taking on his current role as coach of Portuguese club. UPDATE ON PLAYER PIPELINE SENT TO S.L. BENFICA Ryan has been training for a week with the club and is having the time of his life, getting exposed to a higher level of the game, and receiving incredible coaching.

RUSH AND QUARANTA ON 98 ROCK

Sean Rush and Santino Quaranta were on Baltimore's legendary 98 Rock Radio station on Tuesday, April 12th at 7am. Sean and Santino discussed Pipeline Soccer Club's future with soccer Fanatic DJ Mickey Cucchiella. We have posted the audio on our Facebook page.

PIPELINE SENDS YOUTH PLAYER TO S.L. BENFICA

American youth player gets the chance of a lifetime in Portugal. The player will train and trial with Benfica. Read more and see video of the player here.

UNDER ARMOUR AND PIPELINE TEAM UP

Pipeline Soccer Club and Under Armour announce agreement for coming year. Baltimore-based Under Armour is a natural fit for the club to partner with going forward.

SONNY ASKEW NAMED TO PIPELINE SC BOARD

Sonny Askew, a former US National team player, has joined the board of Pipeline SC. Sonny played professionally for over a decade in the NASL and ASL leagues.

DYLAN CURTIS SET TO JOIN PIPELINE SC

Pipeline Soccer Club is pleased to announce that nationally certified soccer coach Dylan F. Curtis will be joining the club late this spring. As the current coach of the Baltimore Soccer Club's U-13 Boys Premier team, Curtis will join the PSC staff following the completion of the 2011 spring season. Curtis brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and passion to the table from his experience coaching all levels of U-9 to U-15 teams in Maryland and South Carolina and with Pipeline International Training Camps. "I'm very excited to work alongside PSC board members, coaches, parents, and players as we move forward with the development of Pipeline Soccer Club," said Curtis.

SEAN RUSH & SANTINO QUARANTA JOIN FORCES TO FORM PIPELINE

Sean Rush, a professional player with experience in Italy, Portugal, the US and Brazil, takes on a leadership role in the formation and management of the club. Santino Quaranta, DC United star and US National pool player, announces his involvement in the formation of Pipeline Soccer Club. Quaranta will be involved from the start with the club on a planning, training, and player development level. These players are excited to not only be involved in the club at the outset, but on an ongoing basis by training teams and individuals. Both men bring a knowledge of what it takes to play at the highest levels. Players of both genders and all ages will directly benefit from that experience.

"Pipeline Soccer Club, a non-profit organization, believes the measure of a club lies in the quality and performance of its players and staff on the field, and their character and contributions off the field. Therefore, it is the mission of Pipeline Soccer Club to identify and develop the best players in and around Maryland, prepare them for competition both on and off the field, promote a high sense of personal achievement, and through soccer encourage personal leadership in the community. To accomplish this result, Pipeline Soccer Club shall provide to its members an athletic experience of the highest quality with the most affordability – embracing strength and agility training, nutrition and sports psychology, facilitated by professional soccer players, sports nutritionists, strength and conditioning coaches, and sports psychologist."
